Senior Electronics System Engineer - Aerospace (Flexible / Hybrid)

Moog is looking for a Sr. Electronics System Engineer to develop Flight Control Computers (FCCs), Actuator Control Units (ACUs), and Motor Control Electronics (MCEs) for primary and secondary flight control systems for commercial and military aircraft. In this role, you will be a technical leader with respect to electronic design.

As a Sr. Electronics System Engineer, you will Represent Moog as a recognized technical authority and project leaderGuide the evolution of the conceptual and detailed design phases through verification and certificationServe as a technical reference point for internal and external communicationsConduct systematic capture, development and documentation of fully verifiable electronics box level requirements that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints through consulting with customers, staff and sales personnelConduct functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate systems requirements allocated to electronics into electronic hardware specifications.

Effectively communicate these internal design requirements to the other members of the design teamCreate detailed Verification and Validation plans and procedures for the testing of electronic boxes. Investigate and create new test methods and approaches.Conduct hardware and software level integration and test including any performance anomalies investigationsCreate concise reports that document the design decisions and analysis results.

Support various aspects of technical project planning, including designs, proposals, cost estimates, schedules and technical interface meetings throughout the program lifecyclePrepare, organize, and make presentations to customers in support of design reviews and technical interface meetings.Support project status briefings with clear and effective reports and presentationsContribute to the development of new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnelRepresent Moog in a manner consistent with its leading-edge technical reputationSupport programs with some travel (5-10%) and the participation in presentations to customersMinimum Qualifications to be considered BS Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering10+ years of design and development engineering work experience5+ years of project/team leadership experienceThis position requires access to United States export-controlled information.Preferred Qualifications Include MS Degree in Electrical or Aerospace EngineeringDepth of understanding and experience in the design, analysis and development aircraft actuation controllersExperience with requirement flow downExperience with actuator sensor interfacesExperience in the aerospace industryExperience with commercial and military standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA/DO-254 standards), Qualification, and CertificationStrong leadership and organizational skills; a desire for constant improvementTeam-oriented, with the desire to lead and contribute to a high functioning teamAt Moog we work in an environment where people trust, respect and encourage one another.
